Classroom Mentoring
Technology Resource Connections (TRC) offers classes towards Microsoft Office Certification. Classroom mentors work with instructors to provide assistance to students in the completion of assignments.
Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours per week; 6 week duration
Requirements: Basic computer knowledge, keyboarding, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, or Microsoft PowerPoint.
Workshop Facilitation
TRC provides monthly workshops in the Jackson Ward community on topics related to technology and workforce development. Assistance is needed in preparing and facilitating the workshops as well as providing administrative support on event day.
Time Commitment:Varies by workshop; each workshop topic will be offered twice per year, if demanded
Requirements:Facilitators must have a minimum of 12 months experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Life Coaching
- Computer Maintenance/Troubleshooting
- Interviewing Techniques
- Job/Internet Search Tips
- Digital Picture Editing, etc.
Small Business Technology Assistance
TRC leverages an industry tool to perform technology assessments for small businesses in the Jackson Ward community. The goal of the program is to identify technology gaps and assist the small business with needed resolutions.
Time Commitment: Varies according to client
Requirements:Knowledge of computer hardware, networking, financial software, database development, or web development.
